This class is offered in collaboration with Shyft at Mile High. Our Adaptive Yoga class offers meaningful variations of traditional yoga poses with the goal of facilitating an opportunity for anyone and everyone to access the wisdom and health benefits of yoga. Together we joyfully tap into the healing potential of the spinal cord and its surrounding fluid, the lungs and the pulmonary tree, and the cranial nerves, including the vagus nerve, whose ability to connect the body to the mind is limitless. With these elements in mind, our Adaptive Yoga class holds space for every student to explore their physical and mental edges, to find healthful movement in the spine and joints, and to work toward a mind/body connection that honors the present moment.

In this class we may offer support or assist a practitioner in moving their body so that they may embody a pose. At GBH we always ask to assist before we offer support. We honor your body and your choices. For live-streamed classes, students at home may choose to practice with a partner or caregiver. Everyone is welcome.

How it Works:

1.Go to Zen Planner and sign up for your class
2.Set up your space. Choose the props that you would like to use in your practice. Some ideas are: blocks, stools, hardcover books, a folding chair or other sturdy chair, a mat, a cushion or pillow, a blanket or large towel, a rope or strap, a sandbag or heavy pillow. You may choose to practice near a wall, in the corner of a room so that they can use the wall for support and balance or in bed.
You choose what works for your practice! If you don’t know what works for you just join us for a few classes to find out!
3. Use the Zoom link to check into class. Your instructor will be ready to check you in 15-20 minutes before class.
