offered by Leaders United for Change
Leaders United for Change mentors students in fourth to tenth grade on various academic subjects on which they want help or just want to improve. We have mentored for the last nine months, initially at a location, but now exclusively through Zoom due to the coronavirus. We are teaching over 300 students from around the world every Saturday from 6 PM to 7 PM Pacific. We teach all elementary level subjects and specialize in competition mathematics and helping recently immigrated children learn English. Mentors attend respected schools both in the Los Angeles area and all around the world. Some of the schools represented by our members are Harvard Westlake, Marlborough, Philips Academy, Choate, Seoul Foreign School, and Shanghai International School. Further, alumni members will be or are currently attending respected schools such as Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Colombia, and Brown. We call ourselves a mentoring service instead of a tutoring service because we hope to create relationships with the students and become older brother or sister figures that they can trust. For these reasons, we ensure that all of our mentors are interviewed beforehand and are passionate in mentoring their students!
