Disability, Sexuality and Consent Workshop
This workshop will be a conversation space centring the relationships that we have to, and with, disability and sexuality.

SBA and UTSU are bringing you a Disability, Sexuality, and Consent Workshop with facilitators Makai Imani and Arielle Sugarman.
This workshop will be a conversation space centring the relationships that we have to, and with, disability and sexuality. We will explore the connective tissue between ableism/sanism and sexuality, especially with the ways that our world has shifted in the last year. We invite folx to share in discussion around navigating communication, consent, connection, and isolation.
We invite and encourage everyone to attend and we are holding priority spots for QTBIPOC folx.
This event is free but registration is required. Please use this link to register: https://forms.gle/qgKNW1Wqr5WDN4X27
Facilitators’ bios:
Makai Imani is a community worker and convenor, whose work seeks to explore the complexities of identity and connection. Makai’s work focuses on binding intentionality and vulnerability in our approaches to community building and strengthening our relationships, primarily our relationships with ourselves. He has created and facilitated a variety of workshops ranging from anti-oppression to sexual health. Find Makai at the crossroads between careful and carefree – figuring it all out, one day at a time.
Arielle Sugarman is a Mad and Disabled femme with 5+ years of group and workshop facilitation. Their work centers on bringing care to the forefront of all that we do – for ourselves, each other, and our communities. Interdependence, justice, and our ties to one another, both fragile and strong, is where they focus that work. They are a community worker and organizer. Most of their extra time is spent excitedly talking about golems and trailing glitter around. As part of eXpression Against Oppression, Students for Barrier-free Access and the University of Toronto Students’ Union are collaborating to organize this workshop. This event would not be possible without the generous donations and support of the University of Toronto Students’ Union (UTSU).
